This installation provides an impression of the way ships were navigated in the 16th century. The visitior is presented with a scenery that adoptes the visual style from a chart by Melchior Lorichs from 1568. The visitior then has to navigate the ship by following spoken instructions, the so called ‘Segelanweisungen’, as written down by the Dutchman Cornelis Anthonisz in 1558. ›››
